Senior Dance Classes for Ages 13+

Comprehensive Training for Aspiring Dancers

Our Senior Dance Program offers students aged 13 years and above a structured, curriculum-based dance education, designed to create confident and well-rounded dancers and performers. Led by our distinguished faculty, our program is underpinned by the highly respected Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabus, providing students with a foundation for either a career as a professional dancer or further training as a dance instructor. Through Ofqual-accredited vocational grades: Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced 1, and Advanced 2, students build skills essential for progressing from grade work to professional standards.

Rhythm, Precision, and Performance

Senior Tap

Senior Tap Dance classes at Hayward Performing Arts are rooted in rhythmical and percussive movements that bring melody to life through footwork. This theatrical art form enables students to explore rhythm and timing, honing their skills within a well-defined structure. Our tap curriculum supports students whether they’re aiming for a career in dance or pursuing it as a recreational activity.
Expressive Dance for the Stage

Modern Theatre Dance

Modern Theatre Dance, known for its theatrical flair, incorporates high-energy moves like leaps, high kicks, turns, and traveling steps. This style, often seen in musical theatre, challenges dancers to build strength, flexibility, and endurance. Our Senior Modern Theatre classes equip students with the technical prowess and stage presence needed for performance in dynamic and expressive roles.
Reaching a Milestone in Ballet

Pointe Work

Dancing en pointe marks a key achievement for ballet students. Eligible dancers, who have completed Grade 5 or higher and attend at least two weekly ballet classes, may progress to pointe work. Pointe training requires dedication and the physical strength to perform ballet on the tips of the toes, an accomplishment that signifies both technical skill and physical readiness.
